Our story
Eyewear Ltd was founded by Luis Fonseca and Mila to help rebuild eyewear manufacturing in the UK.
Luis grew up around optics and moved to the UK in 2014. After working inside the optical industry and seeing how much British frame manufacturing had disappeared, he saw an opportunity to create a new kind of eyewear company, one that could support brands, opticians, makers and customers from one East London workshop.
Mila comes from a frame making family. His grandfather was part of the older generation of frame makers and taught him the craft from an early stage. He later worked inside British eyewear workshops, helping with design, making and production.
Together, Luis and Mila built Eyewear Ltd as a manufacturing house, workshop, lens lab, training space and platform for the next generation of independent eyewear. Eyewear Ltd is more than a workshop. It is a growing platform for British eyewear manufacturing, education, glazing and independent design.
