Course Terms

Last updated: 11 July 2026 · Draft for solicitor review before full public launch

These terms apply to bookings for our handmade eyewear courses, held at Eyewear Ltd's workshop at 455 Wick Lane, One Dye House, Unit 3b, London, E3 2TB.

1. Booking and payment

A place is confirmed once we have received the deposit or full fee shown on the course page. For the Entry Level Handmade Eyewear Course this is currently a £450 deposit to secure your seat, with the remaining £450 due two weeks before the course. Any figures on this page mirror those shown on the course listing; if the two differ, the course listing prevails.

Places are limited (six participants for the entry-level course) and allocated on a first-come basis.

2. 14-day cancellation right (and its limits for courses starting soon)

Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 you have the right to cancel a course booking within 14 days of booking, for a refund. Where you have asked us to begin performance within that 14-day period and the course starts before it ends, you agree that this right ends once the course has begun; if you cancel after we have begun preparing your place but before the course starts, we may keep an amount proportionate to what has been performed.

3. Cancellations outside the 14-day window

Outside the 14-day cooling-off window, course payments and deposits are non-refundable. This reflects the very limited number of places on each course and the setup cost per participant. If you cannot attend, please tell us as early as possible; at our discretion we may allow you to transfer your place to another date or nominate a substitute, but we are not obliged to do so.

4. Changes or cancellation by us

If we have to reschedule or cancel a course date, we will offer you an alternative date or a full refund.

5. What is included

The course listing sets out what is included (materials, the frame you make, lenses, manuals, tools). Anything not listed is not included.

6. Safety and suitability

Our courses involve workshop tools and machinery. You must follow all safety instructions, disclose any relevant health conditions in advance, and meet any minimum age we specify. We may refuse participation on reasonable safety grounds.

7. Conduct

We may ask anyone behaving unsafely or disruptively to leave, without refund.

8. Photography

We may take photos or short video during the course for our records and marketing. Tell us in advance if you do not wish to appear.

9. Liability

We do not exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or anything else that cannot be excluded by law. Otherwise our liability for a course booking is limited to the course fee paid.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
