Maker Terms

You apply through the site. We review every maker application (identity, workshop, product samples and content) before publication and issue an EWL-MKR-xxx certificate on approval. Approval is curated and not guaranteed. We may decline, pause, or remove a maker profile or listing at our discretion, including on quality, safety, legal-compliance or policy grounds.

Eyewear Ltd is the merchant of record and seller of record to the customer for every marketplace sale. The customer's contract is with Eyewear Ltd. You supply the frame to the customer on our behalf, either by shipping directly to the customer, or (for orders with prescription lenses) by shipping to our London lab for glazing before we dispatch.

Prescription data is never shared with makers. For lens orders you will only see the frame details you need to fulfil, plus routing to our lab.

For each marketplace sale we deduct: (a) a platform commission of 5% of the product price, and (b) a payment processing charge of 1.5% + £0.20 which reflects the underlying Stripe fees.

Current commission and processing rates are shown in your Maker dashboard. We may revise them on reasonable notice (normally 30 days) via the dashboard and by email.

Payouts are made to your own Stripe Connect Express account, which you connect through your Maker dashboard. You are responsible for keeping your Stripe account details, bank details and Know-Your-Customer information up to date with Stripe. Payout schedule and any Stripe payout fees are governed by Stripe's own terms.

You are responsible for your own tax reporting on payouts you receive. Eyewear Ltd is not your accountant.

You warrant that: you own or have all necessary rights to the designs, product images and other content you submit; your frames are safe, lawful and of satisfactory quality; your listings, materials descriptions and lead times are accurate; you hold any regulatory registrations required for your business; and you will fulfil orders promptly.

You will ship to the customer (or to our lab, for lens orders) within the lead time shown on your listing, and provide tracking where the shipping method supports it.

You grant Eyewear Ltd a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display, resize, and promote the listing content (images, descriptions, maker profile) for the purpose of operating and marketing the marketplace and your listings on it, for the duration of your listings and for a reasonable archival period afterwards. You keep ownership of your designs and content.

We may edit, reformat, hide or remove listings to protect quality, accuracy, safety, legal compliance or brand consistency. We will normally explain the reason.

As merchant of record we handle customer support, returns and consumer-law obligations. Where a return, fault or misdescription relates to your product, you agree to support the resolution and to bear the cost of faulty or misdescribed items you supplied, including reasonable refund and return shipping costs.

You indemnify Eyewear Ltd against claims arising from your products, your content, or your breach of these terms — including intellectual-property, product-safety and regulatory claims.

Otherwise, each party's liability for any single sale is limited to the value of that sale, save for liability that cannot be excluded by law.

Either of us may end the relationship on 30 days' written notice, or immediately for material breach. Outstanding orders and payouts already earned will be honoured.

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
